I love Xenoblade, and I love the music even more. Yasunori Mitsuda is a master and creates some stunning scores to accompany the games he composes for. My wife and I have spent a ton of time play XC2–It’s one of her favorite games. So we wanted to take the Elysium theme and give it a cool, intimate treatment with a 9-part clarinet arrangement.

Xenoblade 2 – 9 Part Clarinet Ensemble

She did a great job playing it all! As far as technical stuff goes, two of the parts are pitch-shifted down an octave to mimic a bass clarinet. One part is shifted down two octaves to be in the contrabass clarinet range to get those really crazy-low notes. I captured all the footage and edited it together to go with the music, but my wife did all the real heavy lifting playing all nine parts. This one came together really well! What do you think?
